Imphal, May 16 2022:
All Manipur Mid-day Meal Workers' Union has expressed its opposition to the attempts being made to remove mid-day meal workers and helpers in some places under the shadow of politics.
Issuing a statement in this regard, Union general secretary Arambam Thoi Chanu expressed strong dissatisfaction over attempts being made by some group of people to remove mid-day meal workers and helpers (cooks) in some places, just because they did not vote for the group 's choice of candidate in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
The attempts could truly be termed as against the well-being of children, who are being fed with the food prepared by the cooks.
Demanding authority concerned to take strict action against the group of people involved in the matter, Thoi informed that the Union would be submitting a memorandum highlighting the difficulties faced by the workers and helpers to the new education minister Th Basanta in continuation of the previous talks held with former education minister Y Khemchand.
