Lalmuankimi awarded 'NE Woman entrepreneur of the year'

Aizawl, March 12 2014 : The first Vasundhara � NE Woman entrepreneur of the year (2012-13) Award was conferred upon Smti Lalmuankimi of Mizoram during a glittering function yesterday at the Pragjyoti ITA Center for Performing Arts, Guwahati.

Smti Jayanti Patnaik, the First Lady of Assam gave away the award to Smti Lalmuankimi, an innovator entrepreneur from Aizawl, Mizoram who has made remarkable strides in the sphere of business and entrepreneurship with her herbal medicinal product branded as K..CFace Pack.

The award consisted of the Winner's Trophy, a citation, an Eri shawl and a cheque of rupees Twenty Five thousand.

The First Lady, Assam Smti Jayanti Patnaik speaking during the award function lauded the efforts of Sreemanta Sankar Mission of Guwahati for instituting this regional level award to identify and honour the women entrepreneurs of the region.

She praised the organizer for the commendable work and also congratulated the winners.

During her brief speech, Smti Patnaik also reiterated the fact that despite mounting pressure from various women based organizations and institutions, the women's reservation bill could not been passed till date because the parliament of India is dominated by males.

She urged the women of Northeast to carry forward their enterprising efforts besides struggling hard to achieve their chosen goals.

The programme which also saw seven other enterprising women from seven other states of NE India including Sikkim being awarded with state awards for excellence in their business initiatives was graced by a volley of high level officials from several top government institutions.

Those who were present in the occasion and who gave away the award to the state winners includes Brigadier S..KThapa, Deputy GOC, HQ 51 Sub Area, Shri Dayanand Jha, Additional General Manager, NF Railway, Shri C.Lalrosanga, ADG, Prasar Bharati Broadcasting Corporation of India, , Shri PSRK Sudhakar, Regional Executive Director, Airport Authority of India, Shri Rahul Rohatgi, General Manager, SIDBI, Shri Ronel Kumar, General Manager, NHPC Ltd., Smti Vineeta Singh, President, NFR Women's organization and Shri Sankar Prasad Kakoti Bora, Regional Director, ICCR NE.

The state awardees who were conferred the Vasundhara � NE Woman entrepreneur of the year (2012-13) award were Smti Yangchen Doma Lepcha (Sikkim), Smti Hemaprava Devi (Assam), Smti Basamly Krisikro (Arunachal Pradesh), Smti H.Lemei Phom (Nagaland), Smti R..KOngbi Purnima Devi (Manipur) and Smti Marina Marak (Meghalaya).

The state winner from Tripura Smti Santa Debnath could not attend the program.

The winners were awarded with the Winner's Trophy, a citation and an Eri Shawl each.

The programme was also collaborated by ICCR, Northeast and a number of classical dance items showcasing the rich culture and tradition of the eight states of Northeast India was presented.
