Dr Kishan Memorial Lecture delivered

The 5th Dr Thingnam Kishan Memorial Lecture organized by Dr Thingnam Kishan Foundation was held at Dave Literature Centre, DM College campus here Friday with Pradip Phanjoubam, group editor of Imphal Free Press in the chair.
Arambam Lokendra, former Director of AVRC, Manipur University, who delivered the lecture on the topic of 'Women, Culture & Performance: A Deep into Manipur History', stated that women of the State have been playing influential role in the society since time immemorial but now they are not given much independence thereby restricting their contribution towards the society.
He said that women have done many laudable works which even men are not able to do, so there is no question of victimizing them for being a woman.
He also observed that men should acknowledge every contribution made by women especially in a conflict situation society like Manipur.
Dignitaries paid floral tributes to the photo of Dr Thingnam Kishan as a mark of respect on the occasion, which was also attended by film maker and cultural critic Ningthouja Lancha and Dr Ksh Imokanta, Manipur Finance Service (MFS) officer as discussants.
