1st ever Advent Christmas organized by District Administration held

The first ever Advent Christmas organized by District Administration under the leadership of Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati was held here at the Multi-Purpose Hall in the presence of hosts of district level officers, civil and students' leaders.
The significance of the Christmas celebration as the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior, Lord and God of mankind was noted by Jacintha Lazarus, deputy commissioner in her opening speech.
Sending a message of communal harmony, peace and social tranquility, the lady IAS officer who herself is a Christian called for participation of the public in any Government programme.
Fr.Sisou John, parish priest Senapati exhorted that the Christmas celebration is about love, the love of God for mankind by sending his only Son, Jesus Christ as savior of the world while pointing out that all are equal before God without any distinction.
Brigadier, 59th Mountain Brigade, Jitendra Ohri while giving a short speech pointed out 'next generation will learn from us and we should rededicate ourselves for the betterment of mankind making this world a better place to live in' .
ML.Markson, the outgoing president, NPO mentioned that Christmas brings the message of 'peace and love' while challenging the gathering to bring changes in the offices by being transparent and bring more development in the district in the sideline of Christmas season.
Seimang Khongsai, president, Kuki Inpi observed that the dinning together of Naga People's Organization, Senapati and Kuki Inpi sometime back is the manifestation of God's love.
The fusion of the communities in harmony is the evident of love said Khongsai while citing an instance where the Kukis can sell their goods at Senapati bazaar without and disturbance and tension is a sign of peace and love.
The speakers lauded the deputy commissioner, Senapati for such a novel initiative which is first of its kind.
Apart from participation of ADM Laxmi kanta Sharma, ADC CEO Rang Peter, MCS, SDOs, SDCs, DLOs, leaders of local bodies, leaders of Kuki Students' Organization, Senapati District Students' Association, Kuki Women Union, Senapati District Women's Association were among invitees.
Special songs from both the communities of Nagas and Kukis mesmerized the grand gathering.
The brief function was followed by a grand dinner hosted by the district administration and interaction by DC with invitees.
