28-day long training prog concludes

The twenty-eight days long training programme on 'rational molding and plastic molding technique' and 'plastic joins usage in domestic electrical wiring' came to a close today with a simple closing ceremony at Central Institute of Plastic and Technology (CIPET), Imphal.
The training programme which began from November 17 was held under the sponsorship of the Directorate of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Manipur at the Central Institute of Plastic and Technology (CIPET), Takyel.
About 28 participants attended the 28-days long training programme.
The closing ceremony was attended by DSD Director Uttamchand Laishram as chief guest, Manipur Institute of Management Studies Director Dr Memcha Loitongbam as the guest of honour.
CIPET project manager Imo Thiyam also attended the function today.
Speaking at the occasion, Uttamchand Laishram lauded the Central Institute, CIPET, for its contribution of plastic related machinery to entrepreneurs of the State.
CIPET charges minimal fees for usage of these machineries to entrepreneurs.
If promoted to industrial level the small scale business of the entrepreneurs could hopefully cut down the amount of plastics that are imported to the State every year, Uttamchand added.
He further disclosed the institutes' design to establish a plastic recycling plant in the State soon.
Guest of honour Dr Memcha during her speech said that the entrepreneurs of the State, if supported by the State would, in a way, bring down the problem of unemployment.
She further emphasised on the need to organise follow-up training programmes of previously held programmes.
CIPET has been imparting skill and technical trainings to the people.
The main objective of the institute is to provide employment to the unemployed youths of the State, CIPET project manager Imo Thiyam said during his speech in the closing ceremony held at the institute here today.
