Kidnapping of railway engineer condemned

The incident of abduction of a survey engineer, Sandip Vera and Shiv Singh Rana who have been assigned by the Coastal Project Private Limited in its railway project at Tousem in Tamenglong District has been condemned by the Kuki Inpi of Tamenglong, Jiribam and Tousem Subdivision along with Kuki Chief Association of Tousem Block in Tamenglong District.
While speaking to the media on the incident yesterday, Jangsat Haokip who is the President of the mentioned subdivision of Kuki Inpi appealed to the group involved in the act to refrain from such type of criminal activities in the future, while observing that apart from its developmental projects of constructing railway lines in the area, this private company has been kind enough to render help in making a road from Kulbung to Thingtubung.
Meanwhile, Khupneh Dimngel of the Kuki Chief Association maintained that the introduction of railway line in the State is a very positive initiative of the Railway Ministry and further said that the people in the area should support these workers who have been trying their best to complete the project as soon as possible.
He also made an appeal to the people and other social organizations to lend their support in this project.
It may be mentioned that, a survey-engineer from Kolkata including material-supplier were abducted for a brief period of time after which they were released unhurt by group of unidentified persons in an incident earlier.
