Father appeals to spare family

Main-taining that his whole family should not be held responsible for the wrongdoing of his son, Laishram Shyamjai of Yairi-pok Huidrom Leikai has appealed to all the people of his locality to revoke the common decision of banishing his family.
A public meeting held at Yairipok Huidrom Leikai on December 13 held Laishram Ojit s/o Laishram Shyamjai responsible for handing over two boys to a UG group and it decided to banish Shyam-jai's family if the two boys are returned to their parents within five days.
Laishram Ojit (30) and his accomplice Laishram Achou s/o late Mukta have been already arrested by police.
Ojit and Achou reportedly handed over two boys namely Laishram Basanta s/o L Kullabi and Huidrom Pratap s/o H Akajao of Yairipok Huidrom Leikai to a UG group on December 2 .
Saying that the community can award any punishment to his son Ojit if he is found guilty, Shyamjai appealed to the community not to punish the whole family for the wrongdoings of his son.
Meanwhile, the JAC formed in connection with the reported trafficking of Hui-drom Pratap alias Prakash (13) and Laishram Basanta alias Lukhoi (21) s/o Kullabi has appealed to all concerned to release the two boys.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, JAC co-convenor Huidrom Meraguni Devi said that health conditions of the parents of the two boys have been deteriorating fast since they went missing.
Highlighting the pain and agony being suffered by the worried parents, Meraguni appealed to all concerned to send back the two boys to their parents.
It has been confirmed that Laishram Ojit and Laishram Achou took Pratap and Basanta up to Moreh, Meraguni added.
