No shortage of urea for Wabagai AC farmers: MLA

Assuring the farmers of Wabagai assembly constituency of adequate availability of urea, Wabagai MLA Dr Usham Deben has stated that farmers need not fear as the fertiliser will be provided to them at government fixed rate.
Speaking during the distribution of urea fertiliser to farmers of his constituency on Saturday, the MLA informed that as seasonal rains arrived a bit earlier this year and the stage of applying of urea in the paddy field has come, he arranged 2000 bags of urea for the first phase of distribution in Wabagai AC after consulting with the chief minister and the agriculture minister.
These urea bags will be provided to farmers of Kakching, Mantak, Keirak and Wabagai areas at low price, he added.
Dr U Deben further assured that the farmers will receive the government stipulated 30 kg of urea per 'Sangam' of land.
Noting that Wabagai is known for both paddy and vegetable crops, the MLA confided that he will hold discussions with the CM and the agriculture minister for making urea available to vegetable farmers as well.
Meanwhile, a reception function in honour of Dr Deban was organised by Mantak Village Authority at Mantak village community hall on Saturday.
The programme was attended by Mantak village chief K Cheiraojao Kom, Mantak Baptist Church pastor reverend S Sanglen, United Brothers Sporting Association (UBSA) Mantak president M Mohonjao Kom and others as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA decried people who are trying to create division among communities of the state, while pointing out that Kom community of Mantak, people of Kakching and Keirak have an age-old bonding, which cannot be broken.
He also called for not creating enmity amongst communities on the issue of land, and said that the true owner of land will remain itched in government records.
Dr U Deban also assured of blacktopping the road leading to Mantak Baptist Church before Christmas, building a community hall at Mantak Khunou and ensure all government welfare benefits reach the villagers of Mantak.
He further assured that he will frequently interact will the denizens of his AC as well as Mantak villagers to discuss the needs of the villages.
