RNYOM seeks SDRF units in Noney, Tamenglong

In view of the landslide tragedy, Rongmei Naga Youth Organization Manipur (RNYOM) has urged Relief and Disaster Management director for urgent relief and rehabilitation as well as for stationing of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) units in respect of Noney and Tamenglong districts.
In a memorandum submitted to the director, RNYOM said that the unprecedented tragedy at NE Railway Line Yard Construction Camp and adjoining areas have completely left a trails of destruction, including livestock and costly assets.
The landslide triggered by incessant rainfall has also blocked the flow of Ijei Agah river.
Nearly a hundred people are either dead, missing or injured in the tragic incident.
Recalling that RNYOM had petitioned the government through DC Tamenglong (Armstrong Pame) for establishment of SDRF Unit in respect of Tamenglong and Noney District with all equipment to meet any unprecedented artificial or natural disasters on October 29, 2020, the memorandum said that the DC had also forwarded the said proposal on the same day to the director (Relief and Disaster Management) for doing the needful.
