MDA, Gorkha bodies provide relief items

Imphal, July 02 2022:
A team of Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) went to the Tupul landslide site in Makhuam village of Noney district on Saturday and provided relief materials.
The MDA team led by its convener M Tombi handed over the relief materials to additional SP Noney.
Interacting with the media, Tombi urged the authority concerned to take precautionary measures so as to prevent similar tragedies in future projects.
MDA vice-chairman Ph Jilasana, co-conveners K Khagendra and M Tiken were also part of the team.
A delegation of Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union, Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh, Manipur and All Manipur Gorkha Ex Servicemen Association also visited the incident site on Saturday to take stock of the situation and provided relief assistance to the district administration.
The Gorkha bodies also prayed for safe recovery of the missing people.
Tek Bahadur Thapa, son of Harka Bahadur Thapa of Sanakeithel, Leplen was one of the victims, whose bodies have been found, and his last rites were performed with full honours at Sanakeithel on Saturday, informed a joint statement of the Gorkha bodies.
