MLA Kimneo stresses on early diagnosis

To fulfil the goal of National Health Mission for providing comprehensive, affordable, accessible, and quality health care service to the citizens, Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing on Saturday launched free Essential Diagnostic Service in Saikul.
The service will be in partnership with India's largest diagnostic service provider, Krsnaa Diagnostics Limited.
Speaking at the launch programme, the MLA stressed the need for timely detection and treat ment of diseases.
When detection and timely treatment emerged as the need of the hour during Covid-19 pandemic, it not only helps improve patient care and in some cases in limiting healthcare spending.
While lauding the central and state governments for rolling out various healthcare initiatives for the citizens, including those in remote areas like Saikul assembly constituency, MLA Kimneo also appreciated the officials of Krsnaa Diagnostic Private Limited for partnering with the health department (CHC Saikul) for providing free diagnostics services in the area and CHC Saikul team led by its MO Dr John Lupheng, for the wonderful citizen centric healthcare services.
The MLA assured of working closely with all stakeholders in addressing various important issues besieging the health centre such as the dearth of doctors, nurses, etc., while expressing concern that the CHC still remains at the status of a PHC in terms of manpower and infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, CHC Saikul medical officer in-charge, Dr John Lupheng maintained that despite shortage of manpower, the CHC has been working towards ensuring healthcare comprehensive, affordable, and accessible to the citizens.
Moreover, the services at the centre have been expanded to make it 24/7 services with functional emergency care and In-patient services.
Despite the improvement in several areas, critical gaps concerning diagnostic services are encountered during the process of patient care services, said the MO in-charge, while expressing hope that with launch of the free diagnostic services grievances of the citizens with regard to diagnostic test will be resolved to a great extent as 54 diagnostic tests shall be made available at the centre.
An interaction programme between the MLA and staffers and CSO leaders was also held along with the launch programme.
During the interaction, the MLA assured of addressing the issues or suggestions put forth by the staff for better health care services at CHC Saikul and also assured of pursuing for opening a CMHT enrolment counter at the health centre.
Athokpam Surjit Singh, Field Manager, Krsnaa Diagnostic Private Limited also spoke at the occasion, informing about the various free diagnostic services to be made available.
