Four state fencers among Indian team named for World Fencing Championship

Imphal, July 02 2022:
Four state fencers, two of them representing Goa and SSCB, have made it to the Indian team for the World Fencing Championship 2022 to be held in Cairo, Egypt, from July 15 to 23.Khusboorani Laishram and Anita Phamdom have been picked for a four-member Indian women's foil team.
The state duo's two other team mates are Radhika Prakash Awati and Kanagalakshmi VP, both from Kerala.
Robert Sharma Shreemayum, the state native who represented Goa in the selection trials held recently at Patiala, has made the cut into the Indian men's epee team, which also includes Udaivir Singh of Punjab, Sunil Kumar (SSCB) and Sherjin RS of Chhattisgarh.
Laishram Tomba Singh (SSCB), on the other hand, has been selected for the Indian men's foil team.
His other teammates are Dev of Haryana, Arjun (SSCB) and Bibish Kathiresan (SSCB).
Ibomcha Singh, coach �AI Imphal, is also among six coaches named by the Fencing Association of India for the championship.
