Imphal, June 28 2015 :
The Manipur Library Association President Kangjam Chaoba has said that Government should execute 'Library Bill' into work which has already passed 27 years ago.
He further said, "In State Central Library reading room is not properly maintained.
A room should be properly set aside for the competitive examination aspirants.
And Talking Book Library should be provided for the blind people.
The government should properly inspect how library works in the state.
The government should make budgetary provision for payment to the librarians and caretakers" .
It is a known fact that due to lack of government patronage and supervision the libraries in the rural areas do not open properly with the result that the people are denied reading facilities.
The president added that there is no end in the quest for knowledge by the people.
It is an endless quest for knowledge from cradle to grave.
There is an urgent need to upgrade the central library and others with adequate number of books.
