Salam Pat to become a smart tourist spot soon

Noted environmentalist and BJP leader RK Ranjan on Sunday stressed on the importance of egging on protection of wetland areas of Manipur in view of the climate change.
RK Ranjan who is the chairman of Manipur BJP's Vision Document Committee was speaking during a public meeting which was held to dwell on various measures for development of Salam Pat located at Lamlai in Imphal East into a smart tourist spot.
At the meet organized by Lamlai Development Committee, RK Ranjan further stated that people are now suffering due to severity of global warming impacts and emphasized the need for preserving wetland and forest areas.
He also said that the need of the hour is understanding of the impacts together and work to tackle the menace of climate change.
Salam Pat is one of the most important wetland areas and there is need to encourage the effort towards developing it into a tourist spot, he urged.
He was confident that this wetland area will become a beautiful tourist spot soon.
Poireihanba of Manipur BJP RTI Cell during the meet said Salam Pat is developing to make it one of the attractive tourist spots of the State.
Steps have been taken for developing the key road leading to the pat while focusing on plantation of beautiful varieties of trees and flowers at the projected tourist spot, he said.
