Imphal, March 14 2019:
One Lunkholal Haokip of Langol village, Imphal West was found roaming in the densely vegetated jungle near the Headquarters of Moltuk Battalion under 26 Sector Assam Rifles yesterday at around 9 pm.
The man reportedly went missing from his home five days ago and he was said to be suffering from mental illness.
The troops of the Battalion made a sagacious decision of not firing at the uninformed civilian who unknowingly entered into a perilous area, said a statement of IGAR (S).
Lunkholal was in an awful health condition and was starving.
He was immediately given first aid, food and was treated at the Headquarters.
Clothing and shelter were given to him for the night.
His family was later informed about his whereabouts and they came to take him back.
His family lauded the Moltuk Battalion who took good care of Lunkholal Haokip and made it possible for his family to reunite with him.
