Victories for CAL, WYC in Thoubal District Cricket tourney

Imphal, March 14 2019:
CAL, Masjit road defeated LCIC, Chaobok Mairen Khul by two wickets in the first match of the day while WYC, Wangkhem destroyed HCC, Moijing by 50 runs in the second match in the ongoing Thoubal District One-day League Cum Knock-Out Cricket Tournament 2019 organized under the aegis of Thoubal District Cricket Association since March 11 with the participation of six teams from Thoubal district at Thoubal Moijing Playground.
In the first match, electing to bat first, LCIC were bowled out at 71 runs in 14.5 overs.
Batting second, CAL chased the target in 15.4 overs with the fall of 8 wickets.
Batting first, Jiko and Abas of LCIC scored 13 and 8 runs respectively.
For CAL, Humja dismissed 6 wickets including a hattrick while Janab took 2 wickets in destroying the batting line up of LCIC.
In response, Raes Raja scored 14 runs while Ajij contributed 13 runs.
Sadam also added 10 runs to cross the target in 15.4 overs.
Abbas of LCIC also shaked the batting line up of CAL dismissing 5 wickets while Ikbal Riya dismissed valuable 3 wickets.
Mohd Hamza was declared the man of the match for his 6 wickets haul and 7 runs.
In the second match, WYC posted a target of 140 runs all out after electing to bat first in 26.4 overs.
In reply, HCC was bowled out at 90 runs in 26.4 overs facing a huge defeat at the hand of WYC by 50 runs.
Batting first, WYC started scoring runs right from the first over through Biteshore who scored 30 runs while Samungou added 17 runs.
Laxman then took charged of the batting department and added another 17 runs to post a target of 140 runs.
For HCC, P Kaif, Maru Chang and Aten dismissed 2 wickets each.
In reply, all the batsmen of HCC crumbled under pressure.
Aten and Kaif contributed 22 and 12 runs in their chase.
Laxman took 4 wkts for WYC while Mangi dismissed 2 wkts.
The man of the match award went to Laxman for his 4 wkts haul and scoring 17 runs.
There will be no match tomorrow.
LCIC will lock horns with Al-Ameen on March 16 at 7.30 am while TC will square off with CAL at 12 noon.
