Kakching, July 10 2015 :
Aimol Tribe Union Manipur has alleged that the present problem within Aimol is the handiwork of S Muntheireng, Former President of ATUM and his colleagues.
Aimol Tribe Union Manipur's (ATUM) General Secretary, Ruitolal Chongam in a press statement has accused S Munthuireng and his sub-ordinate Girneichung Aimol (Chungchung) for controlling four Aimol villages with sophisticated weapons and blamed that they held a secret meeting at Kumbirei village on July 3 last.
In the meeting, they collected signatures for joining Aimol in Naga tribe and resolved to erect a monolith in commemoration of declaring Aimol as Naga with the support of 60-65% of the villagers from four Aimol villages.
But remaining 40-45% of the villagers of the four Aimol villages were afraid of such immature nature, attitude and behaviour and remained to stand as Aimol, a minority tribe based on the Principle of Neutrality, alleged the General Secretary.
While appealing that the mind-set of fighting, torturing and killing shall not be the final solution to the present problems, the Union also warned that if any unwanted incident happened within the Aimol Community due to the actions of S Munthuireng Aimol and his colleagues, S Munthuireng Aimol will solely responsible for any untoward incident.
