Indo-Myanmar meet concludes

The seventh five-day Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee meet between India and Myanmar, hosted by Hqs IGAR (S) under the aegis of Spear Corps of Indian Army, concluded at Mantripukhri garrison today.
A 19-member delegation from Myanmar including high ranking officers of army and Government Departments attended the meeting, said a statement issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
The Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee Meet was a landmark event which provided opportunities to the representatives of security forces of both the Nations to discuss and resolve crucial issues relating to border management, bilateral cooperation and terrorism, added the statement.
This forum gave the delegates a platform to brainstorm on crucial issues, exchange views and further strengthen the friendly bonds between the two countries.
The Indian delegation was headed by Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, General Officer Commanding, Hqs 3 Corps and the Myanmar delegation was led by Maj Gen Min Naung, Commander, North West Command.
They were accompanied by high ranking civil and military officials from respective countries.
Such initiatives would go a long way in providing a vital fillip to strengthen the historic relationship between the two neighbours, added the statement.
