Protesters clash with police in several areas of the valley districts

Imphal, July 10 2015 :
Police launched crackdowns to control the spontaneous agitations in and around Imphal on Friday demanding implementation of the ILP.
Some activists who sustained injuries were hospitalised.
At least 3 policemen were also injured.
The district administrations have relaxed the indefinite curfew from 5 to 10 am on Saturday in the two districts.
However people may not get free movement as the agitating people have not recipocrated.
Police arrested 25 activists and wouned 27 others in a crackdown against the rallists at Khurai Lamlong Thongkhong on Thursday night.
People were taking out a procession there.
One seriously wounded person, Maibam Arun (37) son of Boro of Khurai was hospitalised.
On Friday there was a sit-in protest to condemn the "police excesses" .
Four persons were wounded, one of them seriously, at Lairikyengbam Leikai in the crackdown by police who fired several rounds of tear gas canisters to disperse the processionists.
The injured person was identified as Samlakpam Sunanda Sharma (32) son of Dhana of Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai.
He had to undergo an operation as he was hit in the left head.

At Canchipur another 24 years old youth, Moiranghtem Nelson son of Ibomcha of Langthabal, was injured at the right thigh and head in the police crackdown.
Two persons were also injured at Thangmeiband.
Six injured persons were admitted in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
Hawaibam Sunil (45) son of Shyamkumar of Thangmeiband Lourungpurel Leikai was injured in both the thighs when police attacked him.
.NNaoba (24) son of Maniyaima of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai was also admitted with injuries.
Haobijam Roshan (17) son of Elien of Khurai Kongpal and Palsam Sharma (20) son of Balaram of Keishampat who sustained injury in the right heel were also admitted in the hospital.
On the other hand, one Imphal west district commando, Tongbram Shyam (45) son of Sanatomba of Langol Housing Complex sustained burn injuries when the tear gas gun backfired at 3 pm.
Another commando whose name was not known at the time of filing this report was also similarly injured.
All communities at Dumdailong in Imphal took out a procession on Friday.
They said that the ILP is not for the Meiteis alone but all indigenous people.
Shouting slogans they flayed the chief minister who casually said that it would be done "if possible".
It showed his lack of seriousness.
Politicians come with lots of promises before the elections but soon forget after the elections.
People of Monkhang Lambi who staged a sit in protest to condemn the ransacking of the house of K Ratan, the convener of JCILPS.
He and five other members were arrested from a house at Wangkhei.
They also hanged the effigies of 57 MLAs saying that they had failed the people who had elected them.
There were confrontations between police and agitationists at Naoremthong, Thangmeiband ABC godown front and MU to Kakwa during which several rounds of tear gas shells were fired.
One 2 IRB personnel sustained head injuries when hit by a stone pelted by the agitationists.
Reports said that in a separate incident one ambulance of RIMS was also damaged by agitationists.
Police had a busy time clearing the burning logs and embers.
Curfew relaxed
The curfew imposed in the whole area within the revenue district of Imphal West District has been relaxed from 5 am to 10 am on Friday (July 11) until further orders.
This came into effect after an order issued by Imphal West District Magistrate Ningthoujam Geoffrey.
The curfew was promulgated on July 8 under Section 144 of CrPC.
