Army holds medical camps

Imphal, March 31 2018:
Jwalamukhi Battalion under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division organised medical camps at Ekou Mullam village and Belei village of Kangpokpi district on March 28, conveyed a press release from PIB Defence Wing.
During the medical camps, a total of 176 patients including 43 male, 61 female and 72 children were examined and subsequently initiated on the appropriate treatment regime.
The medical team also educated the villagers on health, hygiene and sanitation related issues and common health hazards.
The Medical Officer delivered a lecture on life style diseases and first aid which covered sports injuries and accident victims.
The medical camps were very well received and was a major success, it said.
In a similar endeavour, 5 JAK RIF of 9 Sector Assam Rifles.under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a medical and health awareness camp at Khumbong village, Imphal West district under Operation Sadhbhavna and provided medical assistance to the needy villagers today.
According to a press release from PRO IGAR (S), a total of 350 persons were checked and necessary treatment and free medicines were provided by Regimental Medical Officer of the Battalion.
The patients at the camp were also sensitized to the need of practicing healthy lifestyle and cleanliness to ward off diseases.
The local populace appreciated the efforts of Army/Assam Rifles for the compassionate effort provided towards overall upliftment of medical health in.
