Bodies extol BJP's development works

In recognition of the development works taken up by the BJP-led Government in the State in its one year rule, Yarn Depot Agency, Khundrakpam AC along with North Eastern Building and Other Construction Workers Union organised a praising ceremony at Yumnam Khunou today.
The ceremony was attended by Dr RK Ranjan, BJP spokesperson and Political Advisor to the Chief Minister; Sh Shantikumar Sharma, former State president of the party; L Kamni, district president, BJP Imphal East; P Kumarjit, Member of BJP Anti-Corruption Cell; Ningombam Ibohal, senior member of the party and several elderly persons of the locality as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Nongthombam Rajendro (Boy), former president of Information Centre for Hill Areas Manipur (ICHAM) hailed the slew of development works initiated by the BJP-led Government in a year.
He said that Yarn Depot Agency, Khundrakpam AC and North Eastern Building and Other Construction Workers Union were established as per the instructions of the concerned departments.
He claimed that a total of 1125 weavers out of the total 2500 have been provided with weaver photo identity card for availing Handloom Delivery Scheme under the Directorate of Handlooms & Handicrafts.
He also claimed that altogether 550 weavers have been provided with string for weaving and the same would be provided to those remaining weavers as soon as possible.
Rajendro informed that the North Eastern Building and Other Construction Workers Union was set up under the Labour Department and subsequently 480 workers have been given labour card.
He further informed that 580 people from six different areas under Khundrakpam AC are being given training on tailoring and cutting for four months.
The trainees have already provided uniform to the students of Yumnam Khunou Junior High School through its Headmaster, he added.
Observing that only hard work can bring positive changes in development of the constituency and the State as a whole, he said that the development programmes were initiated to facilitate unemployed people including women in the constituency.
Some significance changes have been witnessed in Khundrakpam AC, he said, adding that people should give credit to the Government for fetching the changes.
