FOR THE security of Manipur Chief Minister, state authority has directed to vacate Directorate of Information and Public Relations office complex with immediate effect in order to house Special Security Guards (SSG) .
Were going to shift out office in view of the CMs security reasons says an official of the DIPR office which presently locates in between CMs bunglow and state police headquarters.
The move has been taken up in view of the frequent grenade attack by the armed Insurgents at the official bunglow of the state Chief Minister O Ibobi.
Besides Union Home Minister P Chidambaram during his January 2 trip to Guwahati had already pronounced the plan to set up NSG hubs at every state capitals of the country to control terror.
In Manipur, state recently proposed NSG for CM's security.
Following directive from higher ups, hectic preparations are on to shift the DIPR office complex to already vacated Manipur State Road Transport Corporation complex near Moirangkhom oil pump.
Sources here revealed that the office would be entirely shifting on or before Emoinu day which falls on January 8 this week.
It is also reportedly learnt that Additional DGP, Ahanthem Romenkumar led security committee meet in last week had also seriously discussed the matter relating to the grenade attack at the Raj Bhavan Imphal on December 21 last year.
The committee also recommended to shift three other government offices-Treasury, State Library and Social Welfare, bordering with Raj Bhavan to some other locations in view of the Governors security, besides asking the concerned authority to increase the height of the Raj Bhavans boundary wall.
It also reportedly recommends the nearby private buildings not to use their windows facing the Raj Bhavan.
