'All communities should come together and fight for their rights' : Rishang Keishing

Veteran politician Rishang Keishing called for unity among people in Manipur and said the time is right to forget all the past tragedies and enmity.
He also said it is the time to seek forgiveness so that development can find a way into the society.
The former Manipur chief minister was speaking during the inaugural programme of the Kuki Independence War Memorial Community Hall cum Museum and Library, held at Kuki Inn, Imphal yesterday.
Giving his speech as the chief guest, Rishang Keishing said that different communities following different religions and cultures settled together in Manipur.
In such a diverse state, it would be wrong of a single community to seek the government with certain demands, he said.
All the communities should come together under one umbrella and fight for the rights of the people of the state as a whole, which will be equally be beneficial to all sections, the former chief minister stated.
Following this step will rather be a better way to improve the lives of the people in the times to come, Rishang added.
The inaugural programme was also attended by Thangkhosei Haokip, president, Kuki Inpi, Manipur and ex-minister, C.Doungel as respective president and guest of honour.
Minister, IFCD, Ngamthang Haokip and MLA T..NHaokip was also present during the occasion.
As part of the function, a souvenir was also released by Minister Ngamthang Haokip.
