National Wildlife Week Celebrated in Moreh, Jiribam, TPL

Moreh town in Chandel district celebrated the 59th National wildlife week 2014 with a function held at the complex of Salvation Army Harmon Jr.
School, Moreh today.
Jointly organised by Range forest office, Moreh and Kuki Students Organization, Moreh, the celebration was marked by organisation of painting, article writing and quiz competitions for students.
Altogether 54 students of classes VI to VIII and IX to XII belonging to 6 schools of Moreh town namely Bethsaida Academy School, Mount Moreh Public School, Eastern Shine School, Hermon Junior High School, Netaji Memorial English School and Moreh Government Hr.
Secondary School took part in the competitions.
As expressed by S.Dhana Singh, Range Forest Officer, Moreh, the celebration of the wildlife week is also organized at Tengnoupal, Chakpikarong and Pallel in Chandel district.
Winners of the competitions will be sent to district level and state level competitions, he added.
As part of the National Wild Life Week celebration from October 1 to 7, the Forest Division, Uchathol also organized painting, essay and Quiz competitions at the premises of New Life Academy, Uchathol in Jiribam to mark the occasion.
Dr.Harmit Singh Pahuja, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jiribam; Shri O.Menjor Singh, Addl.
Superintendent of Police (Addl S.P) and Shri Hopson Zimik, Project Manager, New Life Academy attended the celebration as chief Guest, President and Guest of honour respectively.
Around 50 students from different schools in Jiribam sub-division participated in the competitions.
In the painting competition, Jerson Singh of R..KSanatombi Devi Vidyalaya Jiribam, Solomon Lalramthang of New Life Academy, Uchathol and Milar Sinamcha of VIGRO Art College, Jiribam stood first second and third positions.In the essay competition, Lindamaan Gangmei of Blooming Flower English School, Jiribam gras[ed 1st position, while Thiyam Luwang Punshiba of R.K.Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam and Ch.
Ganeshowari Chanu of Blooming Flower English School, Jiribam were in 2nd and 3rd positions.
Milanda Sinam & N.Priya of R.K.Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam; Amandeep Mishra & M.Rabita Devi of Jiribam Higher Secondary school, and Lindamaan Gangmei & Linminthang of Blooming Flower English School, Jiribam came 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions in the Quiz competition.
Tengnoupal Forest Range Officer under the Chandel District Forest Office also joined the nationwide celebration of Wildlife Week by organizing Essay writing, Painting and Quiz competitions for students at the Ideal High school at Pallel.
According to Tengnoupal Forest Range Officer, the objective of the weeklong celebration is to make the people aware of the relationship between human beings and wildlife.
