IGNTU students stir

Students of IGNTU-RCM today vandalised the office and burnt the effigies of Dean and VC in protest against non-compliance to the demand for issuing certificates and documents to passed out students.
It may be mentioned that students of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University-Regional Campus Manipur have been picketing the regional campus since June 3 in pursuit of their demand.
It is said that the regional campus, which was set up in 2009 with first batch passing out in 2012, has not issued any document to any passed out student so far.
IGNTU Head Office located at Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh has not responded although repeated missives have been sent in this regard.

Irate students broke open the gate of the campus and vandalised the office of the administrative block.
After damaging the furniture and computer set in the office, the students burnt down the effigies of Dean of Social Sciences Prof Tripathy and Vice Chancellor TV Kattimai amidst shouting of slogans.
IGNTU-RCM, which has courses like MA Political Science, MA Social Work, MA Sociology, MA Tribal Studies and MPhil (Political Science) was set up in 2009 with first batch passing out in 2012 .
Agitating students said that as they could not apply for any job, their eligibility year is wasting with each passing year.
They added that they would continue the stir until the documents are issued.
