Even as the Agriculture Department is struggling to impart knowledge on what equipment and seeds suit local farmers the best to enhance their production, ignorance on the part of the farmers has left the Department dumbfounded as most of the seeds at agriculture office reportedly remains unclaimed.
Of late the Agriculture Department has stored high yielding varieties of seeds which scientist claimed has suited the local soil and weather the most.
However, the District Agriculture Officer, RK Daranchand today said despite his department having enough seeds for the district, most of the farmers hasn't approach them to avail it.
He was addressing some farmers at Saidan village, where the Department has assembled them to give awareness on their farming methods and the seeds they are using.
Two officers, K Ranju and Kh Azil imparted knowledge to the farmers today during the awareness programme where the department also hand-over a good amount of hybrid PAC 807 and RCM-6 seeds.
