Union Ministers book tickets to State

Even as Union DoNER Minister Gen (Retd) VK Singh is scheduled to visit the State on June 28, Surface Transport, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Nitin Gadkari has promised a State BJP team to personally inspect the condi-tion of NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam road) after the Monsoon sess-ion of Parliament.
Talking to The Sangai Express over the phone from New Delhi, BJP Manipur Pradesh General Secretary L Basanta said that the Union Ministers disclosed these information during separate meetings with them.
L Basanta said that a four-member team of BJP Manipur Pradesh led by its President Thounaojam Chaoba are currently camping in New Delhi to apprise the Union Ministers on different issues besieging the State.
BJP Manipur Pradesh General Secretaries M Ashinikumar and L Basanta and former MLA Sapam Keba are accompanying State BJP President Th Chaoba.
L Basanta said that the team met Union DoNER Minister Gen (Retd) VK Singh at 2 pm today.
During the meeting, the Union Minister told the State team that he would visit Manipur on June 28 .
Basanta said that VK Singh also assured the State delegates to provide all possible assistance in infrastructure and human resource development to the State.
The Minister has also sought a detailed report on Indo-Myanmar border issues from the authorities concerned, Basanta said.
Later at around 4.45 pm, the team met Nitin Gadkari, L Basanta said.
Nitin Gadkari assured them to work out a mechanism for early completion of NH-37 (Imphal-Jiri) construction.
Saying that he would pay special attention to National Highways development, Nitin Gadkari told the team that he would personally inspect the condition of NH-37 after the Monsoon session of the Parliament.
The State BJP Secretary added that Nitin Gadkari also assured them to assist the State Government on enhancing road conditions of State.
The team also met Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani yesterday.
