Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur, which is a conglomerate of 34 different social organizations, has threatened to launch various intense agitations if the government of Manipur does not take up necessary steps to put an end to the suffering of the people from the impact of economic blockade and counter blockade.
Announcing this at a press conference in the office of NIPCO at Keishampat here this afternoon, Convenor of the Committee E Tamphatombi Devi decried the alleged indifferent attitude of the government to the suffering of the people.
She recalled that to mitigate the suffering of the people, the Committee adopted seven recommendations/resolutions on October 20 and the same were flashed through media.
Consequently, a memorandum highlighting these recommendations/resolutions had been submitted to the Chief Minister.
But the government has not acted on these recommendations.
