Id-ul-Zuha greetings

Leading the rest in extending greetings and best wishes to th people of Manipur, specially the Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-Zuha, which is being celebrated the world over tomorrow, Governor Gurbachan Jagat has called for collective resolution to work towards unity, goodwill, universal peace and brotherhood in the state.
In his message to the people, Jagat observed that the 'festival of Id-ul-Zuha exemplifies the spirit of sacrificing our ego and narrow self-interests at the altar of common good.
It exhorts us to work for peace, amity, brotherhood and harmony among all sections of society.
It is an occasion to remember and take inspiration from selfless sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim for the betterment of humanity' .
The festival also reminds us of the significance of sacrifice and charity without which the responsibilities of life cannot be fulfilled, the Governor added.
The Chief Minister, in his message on the auspicious occasion of Id-Ul_Zuha recalled the supreme sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim for the sake of mankind.
The festival promotes "the felling of compassion and love to serve the poor and the needy".
He hope festival will unite the people of Manipur in a spirit of common brotherhood for a "more peaceful and prosperous Manipur" .
Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya, President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Gaikhangam, Secretary of CPI Manipur State Council Dr M Nara and Pangal Students' Organisation, Manipur, etc have also conveyed their respective Id-ul-Zuha greetings to the people of Manipur.
