SBI donates equipment to Medical Directorate

Imphal, August 18 2022: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, State Bank of India (SBI) presented to the Medical Directorate different medical equipment worth around Rs 15 lakh in a simple function held at the residence of Health and Family Welfare minister Dr Sapam Ranjan at Lamphel Sanakeithel on Thursday.

The function was attended by SBI deputy manager (human resource) Om Prakash; corporate centre communication and marketing SBI, Mumbai general manager Dr Prakash Chand Sabu; Circle Development Officer, LHO, Guwahati, LS Madan; and Health Services director Dr Sasheekumar.

Speaking on the occasion, SBI deputy manager (human resource) Om Prakash informed that being the biggest bank in India, SBI has not only been working to develop the business sector but also improve the health and living standard of the people.

As such, the medical equipment were donated to help the society, he said.

In his speech, Health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan appreciated the gesture and said that SBI's assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic cannot be forgotten.

He further appreciated the bank s help towards organising various festivals and encouraging the talented players of the state, while expressing belief that the bank would continue to assist the government in solving the health care issues in remote areas of Manipur.

The medical equipment which were donated on Thursday included an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), stretcher, wheelchair, respirator resuscitator, pulse oximeter, blood sugar testing equipment, stethoscope, ortho items, IV cannula, masks, first aid box, cotton, crepe bandage, etc.
