Governor La Ganesan has conveyed his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami (Krishna Janma), which falls on August 19.In a statement, the Governor said that the festival of Janmashtami symbolises the divine richness of "Karmayoga", the way to attain spiritual heights through ceaseless effort to achieve excellence in one's work.
The Governor urged people to recall the teachings of Lord Krishna and work for promotion of peace, cooperation and mutual goodwill among all sections of society.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also joined in extending his best wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of the birth of Lord Krishna.
He expressed hope that Lord Krishna's philosophy will guide the people and His sacred teachings in Bhagavad Gita will dispel the darkness and light the lamp of wisdom in everyone's hearts.
Conveying his warm wishes, Agriculture Minister Th Biswajit Singh prayed that the celebration will be a harbinger of peace, progress, prosperity and further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, amity and harmony in the State.
MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh too shared his greetings with the hope that Lord Krishna will shower mankind with an abundance of forgiveness and love.
Janata Dal (United), Manipur State Unit has also conveyed their greetings with wishes for a joyous and happy life to the people of Manipur.
