Governor, CM, others greet on Janmashtami

Governor La Ganesan, Chief Minister N Biren and ministers expressed their warm wishes and greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Janmashtami (Krishna Janma), which falls on Friday.
In his message, Governor Ganesan stated that the festival of Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna and symbolises the divine richness of "Karmyoga", the way to attain spiritual heights through a ceaseless effort to achieve excellence in one's work.
He said that Lord Krishna's universal message, as given to us through the Bhagwat Gita, has guided us through centuries to stand firm in the fight for truth and justice against all odds.
He also urged the people of Manipur to remember the teachings of Lord Krishna and work for promotion of peace, cooperation and mutual goodwill among all sections of our diverse society.
Giving his observation, CM N Biren stated that Krishna Janmastami is the celebration of the occasion of the birth of lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu.
He prayed that Krishna's philosophy, which is timeless and universal, will guide people and the state towards a more peaceful future filled with development and communal harmony.
On the other hand, ministers Th Biswajit Singh and Yumnam Khemchand informed that the festival reminds all of the eternal message of Lord Krishna through Bhagavat Gita, affirming the foundation for building a harmonious society.
The ministers then wished the people of Manipur that the almighty Lord Krishna shower all abundant sense for forgiveness and love among human kind.
