ZSUM treasures activities of Chunthuigai Kamei

ZSUM on Thursday observed the 10th death anniversary of Chunthuigai Kamei, former state secretary ZSUM, at his memorial site, Duidaipanhou Makhuam (Marangjing) junction MH-37, Noney.
During the event, Chunthuigai's father Lankhuilung Kamei recalled that his son showed keen interest in serving the downtrodden among the Zeliangrong community.
Chunthugai completed his master's degree in Delhi and was a civil service aspirant but health issues prevented him from appearing for main exams.
After returning from Delhi, he joined ZSUM as state secretary, his father added.
Meanwhile, ZSUM advisor Namjaigai Pamei said that late Chunthuigai during his tenure was actively involved in bringing understanding and unity among various Naga UG groups and under his able leadership many boundary disputes between Zeliangrong and other communities in Assam and Manipur were resolved.
The ZSUM advisor also mentioned that Chunthuigai did a lot of good works for Zeliangrong student community but was unfortunately shot dead by NSCN-K at Kamai village on August 17, 2012 .
Majabung Gangmei, former ZSUM chairman/ advisor, who also spoke on the occasion eulogised Chunthuigai for his good deeds and announced that he would host his (Chunthuigai) 11th death anniversary.
A one-minute silent prayer, candle lighting and floral tributes were part of the main event.
Makhuam (Marangching) village leaders, religious leaders, ZSUM executives and advisors, and family members took part in the programme.
