Imphal, August 12 2011:
After discussing the proposal of the CM to hold a dialogue over the demand of a full-fledged district of the Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) and responding to the appeal of the Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board, Bijoy Koijam to withdraw the strike, JDDC has postponed its proposed general strike until August 29 .
Speaking to reporters, committee members of JDDC said that the decision to postpone the general strike was taken keeping in view of the inconveniences faced by the people due to the ongoing general strike of the SHDDC and hoped to arrive at a possible solution during the talks scheduled to be held on August 29 .
If the state government failed to give any positive response in the proposed talk, the committee will begin its proposed general strike from the day itself.
