Imphal, August 12 2011:
The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) of Imphal unit has expressed its gratitude to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) for including English-II as a language subject in the Teacher Eligibility Test.
It is worth noting that few days ago, the Liangmai students' body had rued that candidates hailing from smaller tribes in Manipur were at the receiving end in connection with the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) programme of the State Government as they had options that were not favourable to them.
Since the dialects of these small tribes are not included in the TET programme, the Liangmai students' body had urged the Government to have the English as the optional rather than languages and dialects of other communities.
According to the LNKR, the option of these small tribes in the TET programme had been to take up the dialects of other tribes as their own dialects are not included in the said programme.
