NIT celebrates first anniversary

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) celebrated its first foundation anniversary today at its Takyelpat campus with Education Minister DD Thaisii lighting the ceremonial lamp as the chief guest.
Expressing elation that NIT testifies Government of India's commitment for overall growth of Manipur and its younger generation, the Minister announced that the new NIT campus at Langol would be inaugurated in October this year.
Moreover, the State PWD has been the assigned to construct boys and girls hostel complex at the new campus, Thaisii said and asserted that necessary administrative staff would be enrolled in the NIT to attract more students and ensure technological advancement in Manipur.
In his address, NIT Manipur Director Prof PK Bose attributing successful completion of the institute's inaugural session to every section of the society also exuded confidence that the students would strive for excellence.
Among others, NIT Administrators P Sharatchandra (IAS Retd) and Kh Rajchandra were also present at the occasion.
