July logs a total of 28,709 cases with 15.53 pc positivity rate, 406 deaths

Imphal, July 31 2021:
For the second consecutive day, Manipur logged below 900 cases with 801 people returning positive results out of 6465 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
On July 30, a total of 874 people had returned positive results out of 6673 samples tested.
July had logged a high number of positive cases and in the 31 days duration of the month, Manipur returned positive figures of 28,709.The positivity rate for the whole month of July stood at 15.53 percent.
Manipur also logged 1000 and above cases on 12 days in the month of July.
On July 14 a total of 1104 new cases were reported followed by 1039 on July 15, 1128 on July 16, 1171 on July 17, 1127 on July 20, 1327 on July 21, 1284 on July 23, 1198 on July 24, 1207 on July 25, 1165 on July 27, 1003 on July 28 and 1000 on July 29 .
The positivity rate for the month of July is 15.53 percent.
Altogether 406 people succumbed to the virus in the month of July alone.
The total tally of people claimed by the virus is 1556 .

With the addition of 801 more cases, the overall number of positive cases is gradually inching towards the one lakh mark with the total standing at 98,499 .
In the past 24 hours, the virus also claimed 15 lives and they were from Imphal West (3), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (1), Churachandpur (2) and Chandel (1) .
Out of the 15, 11 persons had co-morbidities and only 6 of them had received their first vaccination shot.
The total number of deaths due to the virus has now gone up to 1556.Out of a total of 6465 sample's tested in the last 24 hours, 801 returned positive results including 9 Central security personnel.
And out of the 792 civilians, 423 were females.
The 801 positive persons were confirmed at RIMS (28), JNIMS (64), District Hospitals (512) and other testing centres (197) .
The positive cases from amongst the 792 civilians are from Imphal East (194), Imphal West (213), Thoubal (69), Bishnupur (54), Kakching (68), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (97), Chandel (7), Senapati (14), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (4), Noney (20), Pherzawl (19), Kangpokpi (12) and Kamjong (2).All necessary precautionary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
On the other hand, 981 persons were discharged from home isolation (412), RIMS (17), JNIMS (2), CCCs (252) and CHICs (298) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 86,403 including 3986 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is now 87.71 percent.
The number of active cases is 10,540 including 46 Central security personnel.
The number of people who received their vaccination shot on July 30 is 16,179.The total number of vaccinated people is 10,98, 387 including 2,07,926 people who have received their second dose.
A total of 1976 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 495 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres in the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
