AR initiates green campaign, aids ex-servicemen

Imphal, July 31 2021:
Shangshak Battalion of IGAR (South) organised tree plantation drive at Ramva village in Ukhrul district on Saturday to promote 'Go Green Initiative' and spread awareness about climate change and global warming amongst the locals.
During the drive carried out with Ramva villagers, the residents were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological balance.
On the other hand, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed Covid prevention kits and essential commodities to ex-servicemen of Yaingpokpi village in Imphal East district on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the items were provided to assist the ex-servicemen tide over the lockdown induced difficulties.
The PRO also informed that a football competition was organised at Shaibol village in Tengnoupal district on Friday by Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles to promote 'Fit India Movement' and foster competitive spirit, sportsmanship and strengthen bonhomie.
The competition participated by eight teams was won by Chaanringphai team.
