ZSU conducts online seminar on career guidance

Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) and Highland National College, Kanglatongbi organised an online seminar 'Career and Admission Guidance: An Invitation to Social Science' on Friday.
A press statement issued by ZSUM state secretary Katorei-yang Pamei informed that Hyderabad Central University's Centre for the Studies of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSEIP) HoD Prof Ajailiu Niumai, NERIE-NCERT Shillong Dr Tasongwi Newmei and Indian Defence and Estate Service, Ministry of Defence Akanksha Tiwari attended as the resource persons while Highland National College assistant professor Dr Roselima Kamei chaired the online session.
Addressing the young students freshly out of schools and colleges, the resource persons highlighted the need to maintain discipline, passion and consistency on any discipline or career they choose.
They also motivated the aspirants of humanities and social science, highlighting the empowering benefits of engaging in interpretative, quantitative, qualitative and pragmatic approaches.
The resource persons further emphasised that Manipur and other Northeast states have many new educational institutions, such as Highland National College and students can avail the same opportunities being offered in college and universities in other big cities, the released maintained.
ZSUM chairman NK Alunbou Newmai presented the vote of thanks and wished for such collaboration to continue in future for the welfare of the student community.
Highland National College principal Dr Poujenlung Gon-mei delivered the valedictory speech of the seminar and thanked all participants, resource persons and the people who made it successful, the release said.
