Pact with Left Cong's death warrant: BJP

BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president and media in charge Ch Chidananda has said that Congress party is no longer a strong party as the party is now taking support from the Left parties that exist only for namesake to fight the ensuing state assembly election.
Addressing a press meet at Thambal Shanglen here on Thursday, Chidananda said that Congress party is taunting BJP with Sabka Saath Sabka Barbaad' slogan but it is Congress party that is actually seeing the downfall.
The recent reports of Congress candidates visiting religious places and taking pledge not to defect from the party shows the real position of the party and its uncertainty as well as the lack of trust and integrity within the party, he said and termed it as an act of demeaning the religious places.
Chidananda further said that the pre-poll alliance is a clear sign of degeneration of strength of Congress party.
By forming alliance with the Left parties, Congress has already signed its death warrant as it will sink along with the Left parties after the ensuing election.
During the SPF rule from 2002 to 2012, Congress devised the downfall of Left parties and CPI never came back to the political turf of the state after the 2012 election, he pointed out.
Citing various achievements of BJP government in the state in the last five years including the fight against Covid 19 pandemic, Chidananda expressed his confidence that BJP will return to power by winning absolute majority as the public will never believe the lies and propaganda created by the alliance of Congress and Left parties.
BJP does not see the alliance as a viable opponent, he added.
The vice president also informed that allthe BJP candidates in fray for the seats of 38 assembly constituencies, which will go to the polls in the first phase, have cleared scrutiny and there is no question of any candidate withdrawing their candidature.
Joining the media briefing, BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson S Nongpoknganba said that the faults found in the affidavit of Congress candidates for Thongju AC and CPI candidate for Khurai AC show lack of knowledge and responsibility of those parties.
He also expressed his confidence that BJP will win more than 40 seats considering the rising wave of the party in the state.
