Tally crosses 70K as state logs 508 cases, 12 deaths

The number of Covid-19 infected persons has crossed 70,000 on Thursday as government bulletins reported 508 new positive cases along with 12 fatalities.
Thursday also reported 578 recoveries after which the active caseload dipped to 5930 out of which 2431 are in home isolation and 1885 in CHICs.
As of Wednesday night, 720 patients were admitted in different hospitals with 288 of them on oxygen support and 55 on ventilator support, including 13 on NIV support.
A total of 894 patients are in different CCCs and 92 are on oxygen support.
According to official reports, the 508 new cases include 500 persons (253 males & 247 females) from among the general population and eight personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (35), District Hospitals (299) and other testing centres (163).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (116), Imphal West (198), Thoubal (28), Bishnupur (38), Kakching (42), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (34), Chandel (7), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (1), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi (7) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 12 Covid-19 deaths (9 males & 3 females) in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2), Jiribam (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
Four patients died at JNIMS, three at RIMS, and one each at Raj Medicity, Shija Hospitals, MSF Little Flower Hospital, DH Churachand-pur and DH Jiribam.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1162 .
The 578 persons discharged in the last 24 hours are from home isolation (251), RIMS (13), JNIMS (9), CCCs (117) and CHICs (188) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 70,298 (general population - 66,455 and CAPF personnel - 3,843).Number of recovered cases is 63,206 (general population - 59,428 and CAPF personnel - 3,778) and number of active cases is 5,930 (general population - 5,870 and CAPF personnel - 60) .
The recovery rate is 89.91 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1495 D-type and 359 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 439D and 87B filled cylinders while distributions of medical oxygen in the last 24 hours included Bishnupur (107D,0B), Chandel (33D,8B), Churachandpur (63D,0B), Senapati (46D,0B), Thoubal (47D,27B), Ukhrul (25D,15B), Tamenglong (32D,0B), Jiribam (43D,12B), Moreh (12D,7B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (2D,0B), Kakching (18D,15B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCC (326D, 103B) .
On Wednesday, 18,993 individuals were vaccinated and the cumulative number of people vaccinated has reached 5,82,280 of which 84,345 individuals have got their second shots.
Meanwhile, 35 new positive cases were detected out of 321 samples tested in Kakching district on Thursday.
Six cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and 29 at government RAT Centre.
One of them is from Churachandpur district while the rest are residents of Kakching district.
As per report received from the district surveillance officer Dr Kesho Singh Moirangthem, the cumulative number of positive cases has reached 3617 in the district.
Out of them 3081 have recovered and 74 had succumbed.
As of Thursday, the active case in the district is 462, the DSO said.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (24,596), Imphal East (15,613), Thoubal (5878), Churachandpur (5646), Kangpokpi (1782), Tamenglong (2147), Bishnupur (4418), Senapati (1385), Ukhrul (1481), Kakching (3528), Chandel (1173), Noney (570), Tengnoupal (770), Jiribam (750), Kamjong (451) and Pherzawl (110) .
Fatalities counts in different districts are Imphal West (412), Imphal East (302), Thoubal (110), Churachandpur (95), Kangpokpi (29), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (86), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (65), Chandel (17), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 22,655 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,854 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,92,123 tests per million population against the national average of 2,95,675 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.65 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 4460 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 11.39 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.76 per cent.
