Many extend Eid greetings; edibles distributed

Imphal, July 19 2021:
Agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi, Wangkhem MLA K Meghachandra, NPP general secretary (Organisation) Nurul Hassan, Manipur Legislative assembly deputy speaker and Mayang Imphal MLA K Robindro and Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar along with civil society organisations have extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
They also appealed to all to celebrate the festival with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.
In their messages, the ministers and MLAs wished that the festival which focuses on sacrifice may bring peace and brotherhood amongst the people of the state as well as drive away the pandemic from the state.
Deputy speaker K Robindro also distributed monetary aid to 4300 Muslim households of 12 polling stations under Mayang Imphal assembly constituency in connection with the Eid al-Adha which falls on July 21.Similarly, Kakching MLA Rameshwar distributed edibles to 2000 households in Sora under Kakching AC.
The items were handed over to Sora political committees during a programme held at Sora Bazar community hall on Monday in the presence of Kakching Zilla Parishad up-adhyaksha Md Nazimuddin and Anjuman Nasrul Islam (Ulama-e-Association) Sora president ML Zulfiqar Alam Sheikh.
In connection with Eid-Ul-Adha festival, political activist Lourembam Sanjoy of Andro AC distributed edible items to Muslim families in Andro on Monday.
Before distributing the items, Sanjoy appealed to entire Muslim families of Andro AC to celebrate the sacred festival happily and also expressed hope that the festival of sacrifice of the Muslim will bring peace, harmony and progress in the state.
In connection with the upcoming Eid-Ul-Adha festival of the Muslims, many organisations also extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur, the Meetei Pangal community in particular.
In separate releases, Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN), Meipak Ningthou Committee and Shiv Sena Manipur state wished for peaceful co-existence and communal harmony with the advent of Eid-Ul-Adha.
They also expressed regret that the joyous festival could not be celebrated with participation by people of different communities due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
Urging Islamic believers not to celebrate the festival like in the normal days with massive gathering, they also exhorted all to celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha with strict adherence to SOP guidelines.
The organisations further urged everyone to pray to the Almighty so as to wipe out the infectious Covid-19 pandemic from the surface of the earth.
