TPR rises, two succumb, 50 recover

The daily test positivity rate of Covid-19 once again rose above 4 per cent on Monday as government bulletins reported 56 new positive cases out of only 1245 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 4.5 per cent against 3.73 per cent recorded on Sunday.
Meanwhile, two new fatalities were reported on Monday which took the tally of death cases from Covid-19 to 1923 .
One of them was a resident of Thoubal and the other was from Chandel.
None of them had received vaccines.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 34.In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 16.7 per cent while Tamenglong district had lowest positivity rate at 1.2 per cent.
Bishnupur, Jiribam, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tengnoupal, Thoubal and Ukhrul districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload rose to 712 out of which 83 (11.16 per cent) are in home isolation, 214 (30.06 per centl in CCCs, and 180 (25.28 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 235 patients (33.01 per cent) are unaccounted for as all the CHICs have been shut down.
Among the hospitalised patients, 54 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 34 are on oxygen support and 20 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 90 patients.
On the other hand, there is no patient on oxygen support in different CCCs.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Sunday evening, 699 beds including 125 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2467 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 449 beds (30 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 94,387 positive cases and 1549 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 454 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 56 new positive cases (29 male & 27 female) are from among the general population and their status were confirmed at JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (52).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (34), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (4), Kamjong (1) and Tamenglong (1) .
In the last 24 hours, 50 patients were discharged from home isolation (9), RIMS (2), JNIMS (9) and CCCs (30).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,23,787 (general population -1,19,453 and CAPF personnel - 4,334).Number of recovered cases is 1,21,152 (general population - 1,16,835 and CAPF personnel - 4,317) and number of active cases is 712 (general population - 700 and CAPF personnel - 12) .
The recovery rate is 97.87 per cent.
A total of 701 D-type and 133 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Only 4597 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,49,412 including 7,19,301 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,133), Imphal East (27,413), Thoubal (9442), Churachandpur (10,140), Kangpokpi (2780), Tamenglong (3278), Bishnupur (9155), Senapati (2229), Ukhrul (2943), Kakching (6399), Chandel (2333), Noney (1067), Tengnoupal (1057), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (932) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (639), Imphal East (457), Thoubal (174), Churachandpur (161), Kangpokpi (61), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (190), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (39), Kakching (111), Chandel (39), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,893 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,524 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,41,160 tests per million population against the national average of 4,35,751 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1245 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.50 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.04 per cent.
