CEO launches special summary revision

Chief electoral officer (CEO) Manipur Rajesh Agrawal on Monday launched the month-long Special Summary Revision (SSR) with reference to January 1, 2022 as the qualifying date during a press conference held at the CEO Office, Lamphelpat.
During the SSR period, four special campaigns will be conducted on November 13, 14, 27 and 28 and all the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present in their respective polling stations for any kind of enquiry, fresh registration and other electoral roll issues, said CEO Rajesh.
It is informed that the special campaign will facilitate registration of voters in the age group of 18-21 years to enrol maximum number of new young voters in the electoral roll.
He informed that one can also enrol, delete from, make corrections and apply for transposition of his/her name in the electoral roll during this period.
Application forms may be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers through physical forms.
Application forms may also be submitted online at https://voterportal.eci.gov.in and www.nvsp.in and Voter Helpline Mobile App.
The CEO further highlighted the imbalance in the gender ratio among male and female voters while conveying that female electors are higher than that of the males.
In this regard, CEO sought cooperation from media for spread of awareness amongst male voters to get registered themselves.
With the sole objective of giving' maximum awareness to the electors, an "I AM READY" Campaign under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) has been launched from September 3 for which 11 state icons from diverse fields have been identified at the state level and have started engaging them for various activities.
They will be campaigning for mass registration of 18-21 age group new voters and other left out eligible voters during the ongoing SVEEP campaign, he said.
Rajesh Agrawal also mentioned that the First Level Checking (FLC) of EVMs has started in all the 11 Electoral districts.
Among the 11 Electoral Districts, Jiribam has already completed the process of FLC.
He further appealed the media houses to spread maximum awareness among the political parties to join the FLC process to avoid any apprehension regarding the functioning of election mechanism system.
He asserted that three state government senior officers (IAS) namely Devesh Deval, T Ranjit Singh and M Harekrishna have been appointed as Electoral Roll Observers.
CEO, Manipur also said that a team from ECI led by deputy election commissioner Nitesh Vyas visited the state on October 27 to oversee the preparedness of conduct of election.
Besides, interacting with the Returning Officers and State Nodal Officers, the deputy election commissioner also held meeting with chief secretary and director general of police and discussed on various issues including security aspects, the Rajesh Kumar I recounted and informed that more such team from the ECI will be visiting in the future to take stock of the ground situation.
The press conference was also attended by additional CEO Naorem Praveen Singh, joint CEOs Ramananda Nongmeikapam and Md Daulat Khan, database administrator (CEO) L Sujata Devi and Permanent Media Cell coordinator and state nodal officer for media W Phajatombi and officials concerned.
