Imphal, November 01 2021:
Social welfare deputy director L Dhaneshwor has called upon the people to live together with and help the differently-abled people.
Speaking during an awareness programme held on "District meets on Effective Implementation of National Trust Act 1999 and Schemes of National Trust (MSJE-GOI) and Parents of Imphal East and Imphal West District" at BB Paul Mental Development Home, Mongshangei on Monday, Dhaneshwor informed said that the awareness programme has been conducted under the aegis of State Nodal Agency Centre for Imphal East and Imphal West and will continue in every district.
The programme discussed minutely with whom the differently abled people should stay after their parents pass away.
It is unfortunate that only families of differently abled people take part in such awareness programmes, he said.
While pointing out that one can become handicapped in an unfortunate accident, he urged the people to attend in such programmes in the future.
Parents Association for Differently Abled secretary Tanuja Elangbam, National Trust Act 1999 and National Trust board member Dr Sapam Jasowanta also attended the programme.
