Unity Ride cum awareness and outreach campaign held

As a part of NALSA's Pan India Awareness cum Outreach Campaign, a Unity Ride cum awareness and Outreach Campaign at Khoupum Village of Noney District was organized by Manipur State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, Tamenglong in collaboration with Tour de Manipur Riders under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on October 31 .
In a press release, MASLSA stated that the unity ride cum awareness campaign was led by Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) along with members of Tour De Riders Manipur.
N Sony Kumar (Civil Judge, Sr Division, Imphal West), Leonid Ahanthem (Judicial Magistrate, Noney), Bonny Laishram (MJS, Grade-III) and Sarungbam Mangaleibi Devi, JMFC Churachandpur also took part in the program.

The main events of the campaign includes legal awareness programme at TRC Kalum Kai, Khoupum Bazaar and 29 th Assam Rifles Camp; social service camp at Khoupum Cave and waterfall; painting competition for children at Khangsinglung Hr Secondary School; setting up of legal awareness help desk and distribution of section-12 leaflets at Church areas; pasting of Section-12 and other information Posters at prominent locations of the Khoupum village, tree plantations at the Police Station, SDO/SDC Office and TRC office of Khoupum village and cycle rally with distribution of pamphlets, added the press release.
The awareness campaign covered around 15 villages of Khoupum under Noney District and 8 villages under Bishnupur District interacting with around 1250 villagers providing awareness about the existence of the free legal aid services and were also informed of the various social welfare and beneficial schemes.
The team of Tour de Manipur Riders rode back from Khoupum to Imphal spreading awareness on free legal aid services rendered by the Legal Services Institution of the State.
Further, MASLSA also acknowledged and expressed gratitude towards the services rendered by Tour de Manipur Riders, OC Khoupum PS, 29 AR Khoupum, TRC and Church leaders and all others in making the programmes a huge success.
