Kakching, November 01 2021:
Urging all concerned to stop interfering in the election campaigns being conducted in Sugnu AC ahead of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election; Sugnu AC Congress MLA K Ranjit has urged for contesting the election in a free and fair manner, thereby fulfilling the principle of democracy.
The MLA made the statement during a one-day political conference organised by Congress Election Campaign Committee, Wangoo at Wangoo Laipham Chithek Leikai Community hall on Sunday.
Ranjit said that the ruling government has been unable to bring about any significant changes in the state in the last four years.
He then said that the BJP government is in fear of losing the upcoming polls due to its bad governance.
Owing to this fear, intending BJP candidates are campaigning aggressive-ly in various constituencies, leading to instances of poll violence on daily basis.
For example, intending BJP candidates in Sugnu AC tried to interfere in the political conference organised on Sunday.
Stating that it is unfortunate to witness the BJP government abusing its power, the MLA said that time has come for the people to teach a lesson to such high-handedness in the upcoming polls.
He then called upon all candidates to contest the election in a free and fair manner so as to give meaning to democra-cy, thereby ensuring Sugnu AC's spot as the most peaceful constituency out of the 60 constituencies in the state.
The conference was attended by Congress Election Campaign Committee, Wangoo president L Khelchandra; Wangoo Development Committee advisor Sapam Nodyachand; Wangoo denizens L Nanda, Oinam Ibohal; Kakching Khunou Municipal Council ex-chairperson and Development Committee, Kakching Khunou president Kh Babu; ex-councilor and Development Committee, Kakching Khunou secretary Thingnam Rishikesh and others.
