Imphal, November 01 2021:
People of the state are well aware how both Congress and BJP governments depend on assistance from Delhi and it is time to change this dependency.
NPP is taking the right approach towards grooming the youth for a better future and a self-reliant Manipur, said National People's Party, Youth Front president Laitonjam Jayananda while calling upon the people to support NPP to bring about a resilient government in the state.
Election Central Committee of Khurai assembly constituency organised an interaction session of the office bearers of the committee along with felicitation of ASHA workers, who played major roles in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, and accomplished personalities of Khurai AC and distribution of Ima Chingjroibi Meritorious Awards at Ima Chingjroibi Shanglen, Khurai Konsam Leikai on Sunday.
Attending the event, Jayananda, who is also preparing to contest the 2022 assembly election from Khurai AC, said that politics is crucial for bringing development in a society.
Unfortunately, irresponsible politicians are using politics as a tool for personal gain by buying votes with some mere cash.
It is time to stay away from those politicians, who rely on money power to win vote as they will do nothing for the welfare of the public, he said.
For years, politicians have been depicting an image of a dependent state, which cannot survive without Delhi's assistance.
Building a self-reliant state is still a distant dream.
Public are well aware of the policies and functioning of both Congress and BJP governments.
Manipur is a resourceful state with great skills and talents.
Supporting the youth can bring rapid development in the state and make it self-reliant.
NPP is a force, which is trying to raise a united voice of the northeast region, he said and appealed to the people of the state to support the party for a self-reliant Manipur.
Regarding the election central committee, Jayananda said that the committee has been expanded with addition of five representatives from each of the 43 polling stations of Khurai AC and it now has 215 members.
The dedication of the committee led by its president Konsam Prafullo and public trust it won has strengthened the party's position in the constituency and he strongly believes that he can become the elected representative of the constituency with their support, Jayananda added.
