Daily new cases dip to 20, no fatality

The daily new cases of Covid-19 in the state dropped to 20 on Tuesday, which is the lowest since January 4.January 3 recorded 20 new cases and January 4 recorded 35 .
The 20 fresh cases were detected out of 669 samples tested in the last 24 hours and a positivity rate of 2.99 per cent was recorded on Tuesday against 2.77 per cent registered on Monday.
Monday did not report any new fatality and the toll remains at 2112 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 189 vaccinated people of which 59 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 39 patients were discharged from home isolation (34), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (3).The active cases came down to 303 out of which 129 (42.57 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 279 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 91 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, eight did not report any fresh Covid cases on Tuesday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,015 positive cases and 110 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 20 new positive cases and zero fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 255 and 8 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 20 fresh cases (6 male & 14 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1) and other testing centres (19).The positive cases are from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (9), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Tengnoupal (2) and Ukhrul (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,803 (general population - 1,31,794 and CAPF personnel - 5,009).Number of recovered cases is 1,34,388 (general population - 1,29,397 and CAPF personnel - 4,991) and number of active cases is 303 (general population - 292 and CAPF personnel - 11) .
The recovery rate is 98.23 per cent.
A total of 120 D-type and 12 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 1962 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,11,618, out of which 11,37,915 had received second doses and 59,385 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are ImphalWest (48,617), Imphal East (30,378), Thoubal (10,122), Churachandpur (11,037), Kangpokpi (3121), Tamenglone (3467), Bishnupur (9801), Senapati (2477), Ukhrul (3258), Kakching (6866), Chandel (2701), Noney (1154), Tengnoupal (1195), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,087 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,610 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,07,475 tests per million population against the national average of 5,47,340 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.69 per cent.
