Imphal, December 11 2010:
A three day long district health and family welfare mela was inaugurated today at Kumbi Boys Junior High School.
The mela is organized by district health society Bishnupur.
Held as a component of the national rural health mission programme, the mela gave free treatment along with X Ray, ECG and blood test facilities.
Seven stalls were also opened specially to give advices to people on some health issues.
The inaugural function was attended by the Bishupur district Deputy Commissioner T Sithlou, CMO Dr A Ritindramohan and additional deputy commissioner S Naba Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
On the first day, till about 1 pm around 200 people came to avail the facilities, said a release by the government's directorate of information and public relations.
